Mission: Develop formulations for incorporation of Corixa adjuvants and mono-therapies into a suitable medium for presentation to patients. Participate in technology transfer of formulation processes to Production.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop and prepare formulations and maintain appropriate records to document procedures, reagents used, volumes, masses, temperatures and times required for preparations. Must maintain GLP quality record keeping.
  2. Prepare formulations and fills aseptically.
  3. Maintain sterile and sterile/depyrogenated equipment, stoppers and glassware for use in preparing formulations.
  4. Maintain appropriate levels of inventory of supplies and chemicals for customary usage.
  5. Recommend new ideas for developing new or improving existing formulations based on experience with formulations and small-scale trials.
  6. Train appropriate personnel to effect product transfer to production.
  7. Develop/Optimize lyophilization cycles.
  8. Contribute both information for regulatory filings and authoring of Development Reports.
  9. Coordinate and participate in characterization of development/toxicology lots using compendial and non-compendial methods.
  10. Execute product characterization/analytical assays and testing, including, but not limited to HPLC, particle size, pH, and osmolality.
  11. Conduct/Administer filter qualifications.
  12. Represent Corixa with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  13. Adhere to Corixa’s policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.

Qualifications

ASSOCIATE I QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. B.S./M.S. degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or other pharmaceutical science. Bachelors/Master’s degree with emphasis in formulation development desirable or related didactic experience with on the job formulation experience acceptable.
  2. 2 - 5 years relevant experience with a B.S. or M.S. degree and 0 - 3 years relevant experience. Development experience specifically with liquid and lyophilization formulations, emulsions, and intranasal delivery desirable. Aseptic processing skills required.

ASSOCIATE II QULAIFICATIONS:

  1. B.S. degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or other pharmaceutical science. Bachelors/Master’s degree with emphasis in formulation development desirable or related didactic experience with on the job formulation experience acceptable.
  2. 5 - 8 years relevant experience with a B.S. or M.S. degree and 3 - 6 years relevant experience. Development experience specifically with liquid and lyophilization formulations, emulsions, and intranasal delivery desirable. Aseptic processing skills required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with laboratory personnel. Report writing required.
  2. Solid computer skills, including the use of spreadsheet and word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  3. Skilled at managing complex projects, including delineating their scope, preparing work plans, resolving conflicts and overseeing implementation steps.
  4. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
  5. Willingness and ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines, including learning new techniques.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  7. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail as part of a fully integrated team.
  8. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.
